Matthias who?

The latest top ten in Matthias' life... (in no particular order)

1. Real red wine. Right now the 2005 Jessup Cellars Cabernet is rocking my socks off, and the 2007 Rodney Strong Pinot can hold its own for under $20.

2. Giants baseball. I spend a ton of hours sitting in front of a computer screen and love that almost every day for six months the Giants join me via the voices of Dave Flemming and John Miller. I'm a little old fashioned, prefering baseball on the radio over TV.

3. John Steinbeck. One of my life goals is to read everything Steinbeck ever published. Right now I'm working on America and Americans, a collection of non-fiction where his sense of humor is in full swing.

4. San Francisco. I truly believe I live on the best block of America. Between the Castro and the Mission we get great weather year round, public transporation to anywhere in the city, are four hours from Yosemite, an hour from Napa, and an hour and a half from Santa Cruz. Hola California!

5. Mos Def, Counting Crows, Sufjan Stevens, and Wilco. Thoughtful and though provoking lyrics, trippin' beats, and some serious musical genius. I could live on a desert Island with nothing but their music and...

6. Moose Tracks Icecream. mmm hmmm. no light option for me, thank you very much.

7. Light... No, I wont' get technical, I just get a serious hit from finding sweet light, capturing images in it, and watching people smile/cry when they see themselves at their best.

8. The SF Museum of Modern Art. Hello free day every first Tuesday of the month.

9. Long car rides with great friends. And sometimes you can stay on your very own couch for five hours for the very same conversation.

10. Far above all else... Heather, my bride, the love of my life, the one who keeps me grounded, sane, inspired and supports me through the journey of life and all the ups and downs it brings.
